Seascapes and Marine

Having lived by the Great Lakes nearly all my life, I have always enjoyed being by the water and sometimes on the water. The Great Lakes can sometimes resemble the ocean, especially Lake Superior. My favourite vacations were always to the ocean shore. Painting the seashore always presents the opportunity for changing atmospheric moods. Last summer (2002) I visited Ship Island in Mississippi, which is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. It is unspoiled and beautiful to see. I was able to be there in sunny and stormy conditions.

There are three paintings of Ship Island available as prints. There are two original watercolours still remaining. There is also a card in the Art Card area.

They have been well received by people who are far from Mississippi. I guess the draw of the sea is universal.
